Deacon Brodies

PUB TOURS

Not only is Scotland famous for it’s whisky, but for beer too. Deacon Brodie’s Tavern on Edinburgh’s Royal Mile is not to be missed, or one of the oldest, (if not “the” oldest pub in the world), The Sheep’s Heid, located in the village of Duddingston, in Edinburgh. Or a visit to one of the local brewery’s. Belhaven, just a short drive from the capital in Dunbar.

Edinburgh Military Tattoo

EDINBURGH FESTIVAL & MILITARY TATTOO

The Edinburgh Military Tattoo runs for 3 weeks in August. Held on the famous Castle Esplanade. Don’t be disappointed, book well in advance as it does sell out.

Edinburgh has many other festivals that run throughout the year, some in conjunction with the Tattoo. The International Film Festival, The Edinburgh Art Festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe, (where many a star got their big break – more notably, Peter Cook & Dudley Moore), The Edinburgh International Book Festival, Edinburgh International Jazz & Blues Festival, to name but a few.
